Why We Glow

During the pandemic while DJing on Twitch, I met so many people with various disabilities who all had similar stories of missing out on fun events due to inaccessibility. I think that really sucks, so I dreamed up an event where access isn't an afterthought; it's the blueprint. I call it Everybody Glows because I believe it. Every Body Glows!

The venues must be ADA compliant and fully wheelchair accessible. I'm working towards purchasing 50 to 100 of those haptic vests by Woojer so they can be worn by deaf ravers, or anyone who wants to feel the music. We'll have ASL interpreters on stage with the DJ.

Since the braille flyers were too expensive, I had to scrap that plan, but I'm still working on finding 3D touch art for any blind ravers.

Anyone with sensory issues can find solace in the chill room where the music is less intense, and we'll have mental health professionals there in case anyone needs to talk.

This will also be a safe space for the LGBTQ+ and any marginalized people. PLUR ideals are paramount. Everybody Glows.

We've had our first, small scale event to work things out, and I'm planning the next for June 20th in Shreveport. I'll be seeking financing soon so I can get what I need to move up to bigger venues in larger cities, but we've got a good thing started over here.

Music is medicine. There's nothing like the feeling you get from experiencing a rave as your true self, being accepted by strangers for who you really are. Everybody Glows.

Dancing is for everyone whether you have 2 working legs or not. If you can't hear the music, you can feel it. Age and disability shouldn't be a barrier, so I'm working to be sure we're able to include anyone who shows up. Every Body Glows.

I've heard countless people talk about finding hope while experiencing this magic, and I'm one of them. Having lost people I love to despair as well as struggling with my own mental health, I want every human to have the chance to feel that magic. Everybody Glows!
